The city of Split a living museum

A story that has lasted for 17 centuries, the city of Split is located in the southern part of Dalmatia between the mountains and the sea. The city of Split is a living museum whose streets have seen a century of turbulent history. It is full of rich culture and tradition, excellent gastronomy, and beautiful natural beauties.

The founder of Split is considered to be the Roman emperor Diocletian, who built his empire near the Roman city of Salona (Solina). In the center of Split on the Peristyle (known as one of the most beautiful squares in Europe) in the 4th century, Diocletian’s Palace was built, where the emperor spent his last years of life. Since 1979, the palace has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Walking through the cobbled streets, you will be captivated by ancient architecture, baroque facades, Romanesque churches, and modern architecture.
Sit on the Riva, the most famous promenade in Split painted with palm trees and various flowers, with restaurants, and cafes, drink your favorite cocktail, or simply enjoy the view.
The city of Split is a great place to visit if you enjoy art and culture. You can find many museums, concerts, or performances and festivals at various venues that will delight you.
Climb the hill Marjan, the city’s symbol, where you can enjoy various activities, such as running, cycling, hiking, and etc.

Numerous beaches in Split are perfect for a day at the sea. The sandy beach Bačvice with its crystal-clear water and golden sand, will not disappoint you, a favorite place for picigin lovers! There are also stone bays all over Marjan, sun-drenched Kašuni, and the Obojena music beach.
