The largest city in the region of Istria, Pula is a very interesting town to visit. It used to be a shipbuilding town but is opening up for tourism. Known for its Roman buildings, of which the most famous one is the Pula Arena, a Roman amphitheater so well preserved you might think you are in Rome and looking at the Colosseum. Beside the Arena, there are other ancient Roman buildings to point out such as the triumphal arc called the Arch of the Sergei, the temple of Augustus, the Twin Gates etc.

There are lovely beaches around Pula, and are very near the town center. So, if you are not into historic monuments or building and just want to enjoy the sun, Pula has an offer for you as well. We would recommend a visit to the green market, Pula’s main square – Forum and the aquarium located in the former military fort Verudela and it is the biggest of its kind in Croatia.
